JBL Music gets Danish Music Award

JBL Music and JazziVærk made Sep 11th first edition of Copenhagen Harbour Parade. The event was just given a Danish Music Award  Jazz for best innovative jazz music event 2020. These were the words from the jury: ”Extraordinary, entertaining, illuminating. A combenation of light, sound and movement. Diverse experience on land at the sea”.

Fringe Jazz Fest 2019 – full program out now

It’s is gonna be a blast when more than 30 concerts, workshops, street parade, brass band battle and other events are taking place in Pumpehuset and Byhaven July 5 – 13 2019.

Headliners this year are main acts from New Orleans: Hot 8 Brass Band, Jamison Ross, Michael Watson, Tricia Boutté, Sasha Masakowski and Shake ‘Em Up Jazz Band. And don’t miss out the three Mardi Gras Indians “A Tribe Called Gumbolia”, who do several of shows.

Main Danish acts like Emil De Waal, Nulle, Randi Laubek, Esben Just, Jazz Five, Al Agami, Linda Andrews, Patrick Dorgan, Mads Mathias, Mattias Heise and Jørgen Klubien will also perform.

Hot 8 Brass Band headlines Fringe Jazz Fest 2019

For over 20 years Hot 8 Brass Band has been one of the most popular and visible funk-style brass bands in community parades and funerals in New Orleans. The band has toured around the world, released loads of albums and will now visit Fringe Jazz Fest at Pumpehuset. July 11th will be one night to remember!

Fringe Jazz Fest presents first two artist

Biggest New Orleans event in Copenhagen has just released first two names for this years festival July 5-13 at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen.

Jamison Ross is a New Orleans based grammy nominated vocalist and drummer that delivers messages of humanity through the medium of jazz. His unique soulfull voice and extraordinary skills as a drummer have brought him all over the world playing with Snarky Puppy, Jon Cleary and own groups.

His 2015 debut release, Jamison, introduced the world to his concept of rhythm and melody and also garnered a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. His sophomore release, All For One, takes listeners a level deeper into Jamison’s ethos. The album is a result of a personal revelation that “we all have the capacity to love with empathy in a deeper way.” Jamison plays July 12th 9pm.

Denmarks very own master of the groove, Emil De Waal presents July 7th an allstar band Old News incl. Danish legends like Nulle, Randi Laubek og Band Ane. Don’t miss out this interesting crossover show with the best of Danish Jazz. Concert takes place sunday July 7th at 8pm.
